CAC coordinates medical exams for children, which assist
in the collection of physical evidence as well as attending
to the child's physical needs.

Judicial District professionals from DCS, law enforcement,
the district attorney's office, mental health, the medical
community, and juvenile court work to provide services to
children and families in a unified effort.

The
CAC provides several means of support to any child and
family who has to appear in court.

The CAC Forensic Interviewer will conduct
child interviews with alleged victims of or child witnesses to
sexual or severe physical abuse, in accordance with established
protocol.

The
Family Advocate program is designed to support non-offending
caregivers and their families in cases where children are
exposed to the harmful effects of drug and alcohol addiction. The
program provides emotional support and professional resources
that include, but are not limited to, transportation, housing,
and education, as well as financial assistance, if necessary.
